What's the best way of dealing with a trouble maker at work?

simple my friend. If he is subordinate to u, be firm and ruthless in ur decisions. If he is equal in authority, ignore him. If he is superior, try to avoid him to the maximum possible extent. Still the problem exists? Better find ways to tackle the trouble in stead of dealing with the trouble maker. If he knows u are unperturbed by any sort of trouble, he will on his own stop his evil designs one day All the best. -bhaarathi bhaaskaran Chennai

• Need more info really. If this person is not directly making trouble for you personally, I would keep your head down, steer well clear and keep quietly doing your job as efficiently and conscientiously as possible.
  
  If, however, this person is troubling you, I suppose you have to think about their motives & ask yourself why? If you can't sort it out with them, have a quiet word with your line manager and ask him/her to deal with it.
