Resolved Question
Help working out holiday entitlement?
I am leaving my current job, i started working there on 01/07/09 my last working day will be 14/01/10, i have taken no holidays during this period, i work part time 20 hours a week over 4 days.
Does anybody know how many holidays i would have accrued during this period. My employers leave year runs from april.

OK = you work part time, 20 hrs in 4 day week, so your Working Day is 5 hours (and your working week = 4 days)
Your legal minimium holidays entitlement is 5.6 working weeks PER YEAR (link).
Your working week is 4 days, so you are entitled to a minimium of 5.6 * 4 = 22.4 Working Days per year.
You worked for only part of a year (1 July - 14 Jan) I make that 28 weeks (out of 52)
So your actual accrued holidays are 28/52 * 22.4 = 12.06 working days (if you are paid hourly, this is 12.06 * 5 = 60.3 hours).
(for those who are interested, the employers 'holiday year' IS significant in that if you fail to take your holidays before the end of the 'holiday year' you may loose them)
Under CURRENT UK law, Bank Holidays CAN be counted (by your employer) as part of your Holiday Entitlement .. if this is so, the you will have to deduct 5hrs (1 working day) for each Bank Holiday during the period (there where at least 4, = August Bank Holiday, Xmas day, Boxing day and New years day) UNLESS you actually worked those days, of course.
So, if they offer you more than 8 days holiday payment you are doing well.
