Am I entitled to any benifits?? Any advise greatly appriciated!!?
I am self employed working on behalf of a roof coating company.
At the end of November I was ill for 3 weeks with mumps and now because of the weather, its too dangerous to be climbing onto a roof.
Can anyone tell me if im entitled to claim for any benifits as I am really struggling and havnt had any earnings for over 6 weeks and its not looking good for the near future.

in uk, you should sign on as job seeker at job centre even thogh you may have to wait 6 to 10 keeks before they pay you anything, otherwise see if you can sign on as sick

- Self employed means that you are responsible for having your own insurance. However, legally you may not be "self employed" and the company could end up being responsible for paying you benefits. It you don't qualify as a sub contractor, they are liable. Contact the employment agency for your state.
