Apart from doctor and lawyer, how many other careers are acknowledged as being one of the "proffessions"?

What constitutes as a profession has changed somewhat through the centuries - and is still open to debate to this day. Here's a good article which may help

Resolved Question

Did anyone come across with this?

i had interview on tuesday,
it's all end well, but i am thinking to turn it down
because of the atmosphere at workplace, is quite bad,
so the interviewer told me he will call me on friday
to see if I am successful

Today, is Friday, I didn't get any call from them
so does it mean I didn't get a job?

  • I think that in the real world not many people enjoy their job, i've never had a job that i loved and i actually left my job this year to find one that i do. The ones i might love dont pay enough to support my family.

Jobs in 99% of the time are just a means to an end. Try get one you like, good luck
  • Hey kid, what is it with you and these questions about jobs? Are you looking to marry a merchant banker or something? I'm curious.

  • i own the company so i really enjoy it

Resolved Question

Please help with my query about work experience?

I want to gain some experience within the legal services - e.g. a Solicitors firm, however I don't know how to approach any of the firms. If there are any lawyers or anything similar, or anyone who has done this and knows PLEASE help me with tips on how to go about this or any other vital info i may need!

Thanks in advance!!

you can always ask for an internship at a law office. You most likely will be a paper pusher of some sort but you can at-least observe the inner workings. It also helps if you are going to school to earn some kind of law degree. Hope this helps.

Work experience help?

Resolved Question

Work experience help?

i need idea's of anywhere to go or places you might of been ?
Thankyou :D x

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I had this exact same problem. I did mine in a pharmacy at Tesco. It was really interesting considering how boring it may sound. If you looking for experience over the summer i would get in now and send out a few letters. If you leave it too late people are not keen on the idea...it takes about two months for an application to go through any company so get onto it now :)

  • yeah

like, as long as your hourly pay rate remains the same

say you normally work 40 hours a week and take home $800, but one week you only work 20 hours and take home $400, that would be ok

it wouldn't be ok if you normally get $800 for 40 hours and then he randomly says one week that he still needs you to work 40 hours but will only give you $400
  • Yes they can because of health & safety regulations. No doubt you could be on here asking if you can sue as your premises are too cold.
