Resolved Question
Becoming A Paramedic?
Hi.
What is the best entry route to becoming a paramedic?
A Levels, and then a degree?
Or waiting for a trainee paramedic vacancy to become available and apply?
Is it a very competitive career to obtain?
Any relevant information from current or ex paramedics, or people currently working their way towards this career would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, You could start by taking a recognised first aid course where you live and ask the tutor. At least this would show any prospective employer that you showed willingness to learn and advance your career. Even if you don''t get a paramedics job straight away, most employers will pay extra for someone who is qualified in first aid as it is an asset to the workplace. I hope this is of some help, all the best. Rab
