What will happen if it is discovered that he showed it to me?

• No its not legal, firstly the 18 +, which you are not allowed to watch.
  Also the police will thrown on your relationship although technically it is legal, unless you have sex which is illegal. Uk gay sex age is 18, unlike straight sex which is 16.
  Although saying this the police generally wont get involved unless someone flags it to there attention.

I'm in a complete mess!!?

I feel that nothing has worked out for me.

I have qualifications and skills/experience in a variety of fields (particurlarly teaching). I have recently been informed that I am not eligable to be a teacher (for personal reasons which I cannot go into but nothing to do with criminal convictions) and it's what i've worked towards my whole life. I am shocked and utterly crushed by this news but I have to do something else.

I am qualified in German but German studies so the language aspect is non-existant.

Where can I go from here? I've hit a dead end and the end of the road. I know it's sounds snobby but I don't want to end up in a call centre or working for McDonalds because I have worked my whole life to get qualifications which now simply mean nothing *cue violins* lol!

What can you suggest? Please give straightforward answers and don't ask me to ask someone else or go to a careers office (I have done this!).

You don't say what your other qualifications are, or at what level. Do you have GCSE's, A/S levels, or a degree? Sorry to sound a little dismissive of your German qualification, but someone should have told you that any course with "Studies" in the name was unlikely to become a meaningful qualification with any relevance that an employer would find useful.

You say you don't want to end up in a call centre or working for McDonalds. Well, at least you would be working - and gaining some kind of experience - and employers like to see that you haven't spent a lot of time just sitting on your a**e (any job is better than none.) You also don't seem to have any idea of what you would actually like to do. How can you find a job, if you have no idea what kind of job you want?

You need to think very carefully about what skills/qualifications/interests you have, and what kind of work you would like to do. Then look for posts where your skills and qualifications would be an advantage.

I always wanted to be a librarian. When I went to the job centre, though (back in the '60's,) they had no vacancies, and you didn't get the dole until you were 21, so I started off as a shop-assistant (although I did have 6 GCE's). I then worked variously in the Civil Service, Local Government, and ended up working for a multinational, running a department. I left to run my own business.

It really doesn't matter so much what your qualifications are; most employers accept nowadays that qualifications are not that meaningful, because so many young people have all the A*s, but can't actually read and write sensibly or function properly in a job. Take any job, while you think about what you want to do; not only will you be out and functioning in society and gaining experience, but any future employer will know that you really want to work. And work your socks off in every job you do; that way, you get good references, when you try for your next job.

• Hello! Why don't you try a education-related job, for example being the Principal of an institution. If you already have a teaching diploma, it's gonna be easy to get this as well. Another solution may be getting into a research department or an international embassy. Human resources department in any company, or administrative positions. There is a saying: God helps those who help themselves! So, do not give up!!!! Break a leg!
• No, you are not in a complete mess, you are in a very good position because you are qualified. Concentrate on your positives. OK, so the teaching thing hasn't happened as you thought it would. You have a thousand other options. How about a different public sector role. Local council or the NHS are a good employer and will take note of your qualifications and reward them. Not only must you ask someone else and go to a careers office, you must continue doing this until you find a lead or a contact or a breakthrough!
• Very difficult to answer when you don't explain why. But you'll have to be more versatile, branch out a bit more. I think many are going through difficult times. But it seems odd as there is meant to be a demand for teachers???

What career path should I choose.?

Plumbing/Gas Engineer: Both Jobs, I can leave school at 16 and do an apprenticeship. It sound good and i love the hands on work. Making as much as I work which is a great advantage. Also most of my friends are doing this which means we could start our own business and make allot of money.

architect/Civil Engineer: I would have to stay on at school and then go to University. They both sound like a good job but i don't know if an office job is for me. But I do love Designing and stuff at school. Also the money for these jobs, Wow but I could be making more with my own business for the Plumbing and Gas. It courses at colleague require to have 4 Highers(A-Levels) A-B-B-C at most Places, or A-A-B-B and the course is 4 to 5 years long.

Please Help.

It sounds like you would prefer to go with Plumbing/Gas as you are not too keen on the idea of an office job. The university route is about the experience of going to uni and living away from home as well as the course, so it depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. It's difficult to tell what would be the right route, however I get the impression that you are quite bright and so could benefit from doing A Levels and going to uni.

The Jobcentre gave me a voucher to give to prospective employers to encourage them to give me a job-does this?

mean they think I'm a lost cause?The voucher says the employer who gives me a job gets £500 with I think another payment after 6 months.What's going on?

yeah it's to help the long term unemployed.
but it just means someone else won't get the job and will have to sign on

• This doesn't mean they think you're a lost cause, no. I believe this is an incentive for employers to recruit through the job centre, rather than through other means.
  
  So they have 2 candidates, both equally capable of doing the job. One has applied through the job centre, one through an advert in the local newspaper. They should take the one who has applied through the job centre as there is a financial incentive for the employer.

  The two other answers are right. Basically with people fighting to get work its just an extra push so that the employers hire you. If there's two people both can do the same skills but if they hire one the company gets a bonus...who do you think they will pick? Magic hey, dont worry about whether your a lost cause! Your not, just use this to get into work and then from there you can proof them wrong. Im on job seekers and i have heard of this. Also i have to say i am eligible for work trials, so they can hire me and dont have to pay me but the job centre does. Basically these sort of things get your foot in the door at least. So don't stress, hopefully you will get a job out of this.

Yes ring them, it's a good time to call now.

Just say "Hello I'm calling about the 'whatever the job title is' job vacancy" and then they should just take over and tell you what to do or ask you some questions.

Give them a reasonable time to get back to you (3 to 4 days) then give them a call and say "Hi, I'm just calling for some feedback on the job interview I had with you last week". You will come across as enthusiastic and motivated. I bet you're great on the phone.
